On my first trip to Japan, a priority "weeb used game shopping excursion" pickup was a Japanese copy. Between multiple moves since that point in time I've lost a lot of items to time, yet I've managed to keep that original copy of Katamari (along with another title which manages to make this post).
I can't remember classmates or teachers from my sophomore year of high school, but I have a hazy memory of buying my copy of Katamari Damacy from the Pearl Ridge Mall on O'ahu near launch. I was a more casual fan of the video game medium as a whole before GameSpot pointed me to this title. Katamari Damacy is my favorite game of all time. People like those! It has been defined, as well, by changing time priorities. It's been a strange year of false starts, adapting to home ownership in a house built in the FDR administration with a squirrel infestation, and adjusting to a new work schedule split between long commute days and audio work for A Website. Whatever it is you build, just know that you can destroy it…and then some. It's your world, and you can make whatever you wish out of it, be it a monumental metropolis, or a quaint oceanside village.

Of course, Minecraft doesn't just give you the tools to build it also gives you the tools to destroy. Creations that, when all's said and done, usually come tumbling down just as soon as its builders gets bored with them. Thanks to Mojang creating one of the biggest sandbox games of all time, there has been an abundance of wondrous worlds and euphoric creations over the years. And on that note, Minecraft provides lessons like they're going out of fashion. In order to destroy something from the top down, one must first learn to build it from the ground up.
